Job summary
South Coast Nursing Homes Ltd in Worthing is seeking a Maintenance Operative to join our team and support 9 care homes across East and West Sussex. You will deliver reactive maintenance and select project work to uphold high standards of resident safety and comfort.
We require hands-on experience in plumbing, basic electrical, carpentry and decorating, plus a proactive, team-focused approach. A full clean driving licence is essential for travel between sites in a company van. DBS check applies.
Qualifications
- Practical hands-on maintenance experience in plumbing.
- Basic electrics skills and knowledge.
- Basic carpentry and painting/decorating skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team with conflicting priorities and good time management.
- Proactive approach with minimal supervision.
- Full clean driving licence; travel between sites in company van.
- Comfortable using computers and mobile devices.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality reactive maintenance across our care and nursing homes.
- Carry out project work when required.
- Travel between sites in the company van.
- Report to the Head of Estates and Health and Safety.
- Ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
