First Base Employment Ltd is seeking an experienced Area Depot Manager to oversee the operational performance of multiple distribution depots in Gloucestershire. You will lead Depot Managers to ensure safe, efficient, and consistent service across locations.

This hands-on, multi-site role requires strong leadership, commercial awareness and a proactive approach to improvement, with travel between sites and occasional overnight stays.

Qualifications

• Experience managing a site or depot operations.
• Strong leadership and coaching abilities.
• Budget management and P&L awareness.
• Understanding of Health & Safety and regulatory compliance.
• Willingness to travel between locations and drive.
• LEAN / continuous improvement experience is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Oversee day-to-day operational performance of multiple depots.
• Lead, coach and support Depot Managers to develop high-performing teams.
• Monitor performance, identify improvements and implement solutions.
• Ensure Health & Safety, food safety, transport and environmental compliance.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including LEAN principles.
• Collaborate with Sales and other departments to align capacity with needs.
• Recruitment, training, performance management and succession planning.
• Manage budgets and performance reporting.
• Implement new processes and guide teams through change.
• Maintain consistent service standards and meet customer expectations.
• Travel regularly between depot locations; occasional overnight stays.
