Job summary

Henderson Brown Recruitment seeks an experienced Depot Manager to own a busy transport and depot operation from its Gloucestershire site. You will lead daily operations, manage people and fleet, and drive KPI performance, cost control and service standards.

The role requires a Transport Manager CPC with strong knowledge of UK transport compliance, plus proven leadership in a fast-paced depot environment. You will foster a data-driven culture, champion health & safety and cost efficiency across

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a transport, distribution or logistics management role within a depot or multi-drop operation, ideally within Foodservice, FMCG or a similar fast-paced environment.
• Transport Manager CPC (Essential), with strong knowledge of UK transport compliance.
• Strong operational and commercial acumen, with experience managing KPIs, budgets, resource planning, fleet utilisation and costs, using data to drive performance and continuous improvement.
• Proven people leadership experience, with the ability to engage, coach and develop teams.
• Strong understanding of fleet compliance, vehicle roadworthiness and Health & Safety, with IOSH, NEBOSH or equivalent qualification desirable.
• A hands-on, commercially focused and solutions-driven leader with excellent communication, planning and problem-solving skills.

Role Overview

An established and highly successful Foodservice business is seeking an experienced Depot Manager to take ownership of its busy transport and depot operation from its Gloucestershire site.

This is a key leadership position with responsibility for ensuring the depot operates safely, compliantly and commercially, whilst consistently delivering excellent service to customers. Reporting into the senior operational team, you will lead the day-to-day operation, managing people, fleet, resource planning, service levels, budgets and KPIs, using data and insight to improve efficiency, maximise utilisation and control costs.

Working closely with the wider transport network and functions across the business, you will build a positive, accountable and high-performing culture, develop your team and embed consistent processes and best practice. You will also play a key role in driving engagement, improving retention and ensuring the depot has the capability and structure required to support continued business growth.

Ideal Candidate
