Job summary

Step Teachers Ltd. is seeking flexible Cover Supervisors to supervise classes during short-term teacher absences across a variety of London schools. You will deliver pre-prepared plans, keep pupils on task and uphold school policies to maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment.

The role supports secondary pupils with strong behaviour management, clear communication, and adaptability across settings. DBS checks (or willingness to obtain) are expected, with weekly PAYE pay and access to

Qualifications

• Experience working with secondary-aged pupils
• Confident classroom presence and strong behaviour management skills
• Ability to follow lesson plans and maintain continuity of learning
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Flexible and proactive approach to working across different schools
• Genuine interest in education and supporting young people
• An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

Responsibilities

• Supervise whole classes during short-term absence of the class teacher
• Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans and ensure pupils remain on task
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
• Provide feedback to teaching staff on pupil progress and behaviour
• Support pupils in their learning and encourage positive engagement
• Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment
• Adapt quickly to different school settings and routines
