Job summary

Shillito Group are recruiting for a Laser Cutting Operative to join an established engineering and metal cutting business in Sheffield. This position would suit someone with experience in laser cutting, sheet metal or CNC programming who wants to broaden their skills across different cutting technologies.

The role will involve programming CNC cutting machinery, including flame cutting, press brake and 3D waterjet equipment.

Qualifications

• Experience in laser cutting, sheet metal or CNC machinery programming.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
• Some CAD experience is desirable, SolidWorks knowledge is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Program CNC cutting machinery including laser, flame cutting, press brake and waterjet.
• Interpret drawings using CAD software and nest components to reduce waste.
• Plan and schedule jobs to maintain production efficiency.
• Collaborate with production and sales to resolve technical queries.
• Identify opportunities to improve cutting processes and productivity.
