Job summary

Aldenham Estate in Elstree, Hertfordshire, is seeking a technically strong, hands-on Financial Accountant to own the monthly close, reconciliations and controls across multiple entities. You’ll manage VAT, payroll, banking and system improvements, including replacing Sage 50 and integrating with Re-Leased, while documenting robust procedures to strengthen the finance function.

Qualifications

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification with strong technical accounting.
• Experience with multi-entity accounting and month-end close.
• Strong financial controls, VAT and payroll knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly close across all entities, with journals, accruals and reconciliations.
• Prepare VAT returns and year-end schedules; manage audit files.
• Oversee cash flow, working capital and banking controls.
• Coordinate payroll administration with outsourced provider.
• Drive replacement of finance system and integration with Re-Leased.
• Document procedures to improve efficiency and control.
• Own technical accounting and internal controls.
