Job summary

Cencora, a leading pharmaceutical wholesaler in the UK, is seeking a Multi Drop Van Driver to ensure fast, accurate deliveries to customers across Preston, Stockport and Manchester. You will coordinate loading, route checks and timely handovers, while maintaining high safety standards.

The role requires a full driving license and at least 21 years of age, with strong communication and customer service skills. Expect a 6-day week with minimum 48 hours and a supportive transport team.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safe, competent driving and obey traffic rules.
• Conduct daily vehicle checks and report faults or delays.
• Load orders and ensure correct drops; maintain vehicle cleanliness.
• Ensure sufficient fuel for the day and secure vehicle contents.
• Maintain professional appearance and good customer relations.
• Assist with warehouse duties as needed and meet health & safety requirements.

Job Title: Multi Drop Van Driver

Location: Preston / Stockport / Manchester

Hours per week: Minimum 48 hours – Please note this is a 6 day working week, working Monday-Friday (Full Days) + Saturday Morning

Salary: £35,642.88

Job Purpose

To ensure the speedy, efficient and accurate delivery of assembled product and invoices to the customer within the corporate guidelines.

Key Accountabilities

• To maintain a safe a competent standard of driving, observing speed limits and other traffic signs and giving due regard to other road users.
• To have a daily check to ensure that your vehicle is in a roadworthy condition including a check of the lights, brakes, coolant, etc.
• To report any faults, breakdowns, accidents or delays.
• To maintain the internal and external condition of the vehicle together with the cleanliness of the vehicle.
• To ensure sufficient quantities of fuel have been taken for the day's work.
• To maintain the security of the vehicle and its contents at all times.
• To check all orders shown on the dropsheets and ensure all orders are loaded on the vehicle.
• To collect goods returned for credit, mail, delivery bins and their safe return to the branch at times instructed by the branch management.
• Ensure damages/breakages are dealt with promptly and correctly with due regard to special procedures for HazChems.
• To maintain a smart appearance at all times.
• To help maintain good customer relations.
• To be involved in other duties including warehouse tasks as defined by the Management.
• Meet all Health & Safety requirements.

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required

• A full driving license must be held relevant to the vehicle being driven
• For insurance purposes, all drivers must be over 21 years of age
• Whilst we do not ask for a clean license, we will assess the risk of employing applicants who have points on their license and this may affect our decision to shortlist
• Existing employees must update fleet services accordingly with any changes to their license status e.g. points on their license, driving bans etc
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent Customer care
• Intermediate Numeracy and Literacy

Desirable

• Previous experience of multi-drop delivery driving is highly desirable
• Route planning experience

MANUAL HANDLING

It should be noted that manual handling tasks such as lifting and bending are “essential requirements” of this role.
