Job summary

Alliance Healthcare Management Services Limited in Preston is seeking two Multi Drop Delivery Drivers. This full-time role includes 48 hours per week with 5am–7am starts, two 8.5 hour shifts and a 45 minute break; Mon–Sat with Saturday OT payable. Salary £37,140.48 per year.

You will ensure the safe, accurate delivery of goods, inspect your vehicle, report faults, maintain appearance, and support warehouse tasks while upholding health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Deliver assembled products and invoices accurately and safely.
• Maintain vehicle roadworthiness, report faults or delays.
• Load orders and check dropsheets against deliveries.
• Keep the vehicle clean and secure at all times.
• Support warehouse tasks as required and maintain safety standards.

Multi Drop Devliery Driver x 2 This role is in support of Cencora's wholesale distribution services in Europe operating through our Alliance Healthcare business. Location: - Preston Hours: 48 per week - varying/staggered start times 5 am to 7 am with 2 shifts per day of 8.5 hours with 45 min break. Mon-Sat (4 hours on Sat paid as O/T) Salary: £37,140.48

Job Purpose

To ensure the speedy, efficient and accurate delivery of assembled product and invoices to the customer within the corporate guidelines.

Key Accountabilities

• To maintain a safe a competent standard of driving, observing speed limits and other traffic signs and giving due regard to other road users.
• To have a daily check to ensure that your vehicle is in a roadworthy condition including a check of the lights, brakes, coolant, etc.
• To report any faults, breakdowns, accidents or delays.
• To maintain the internal and external condition of the vehicle together with the cleanliness of the vehicle.
• To ensure sufficient quantities of fuel have been taken for the day's work.
• To maintain the security of the vehicle and its contents at all times.
• To check all orders shown on the dropsheets and ensure all orders are loaded on the vehicle.
• To collect goods returned for credit, mail, delivery bins and their safe return to the branch at times instructed by the branch management.
• Ensure damages/breakages are dealt with promptly and correctly with due regard to special procedures for HazChems.
• To maintain a smart appearance at all times.
• To help maintain good customer relations.
• To be involved in other duties including warehouse tasks as defined by the Management.
• Meet all Health & Safety requirements.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required

Essential

• A full driving license must be held relevant to the vehicle being driven
• For insurance purposes, all drivers must be over 21 years of age Whilst we do not ask for a clean license, we will assess the risk of employing applicants who have points on their license and this may affect our decision to shortlist
• Existing employees must update fleet services accordingly with any changes to their license status e.g. points on their license, driving bans etc
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent Customer care
• Intermediate Numeracy and Literacy

Desirable

• Previous experience of multi-drop delivery driving is highly desirable
• Route planning experience
• Use of scanners

It should be noted that manual handling tasks such as lifting and bending are “essential requirements” of this role.
