Job summary

Johnson's Dry Cleaners, part of the Timpson Group, is seeking a skilled tailor/seamstress in Harrogate. The role offers 40 hours over five days, pay starting at £12.75 per hour with a small weekly bonus potential, and overtime opportunities.

You will perform alterations and repairs, handle zippers, fittings, and customer service across branches, supporting the Area Manager. The team rewards dedication with uncapped bonuses, training, and progression prospects.

Qualifications

Proficiency in sewing and tailoring techniques.
Knowledge of fabrics and garment construction.
Strong customer service skills.
Attention to detail for precise alterations.

Experience with a variety of garment types.
Previous work experience in a retail or alteration environment.

Responsibilities

Carry out alterations and repairs on garments including shortening/lengthening and taking in/out.
Replace broken zippers and perform related repair work.
Curtain shortening and other alteration tasks as required.
Assist customers in the branch and discuss fittings/needs.
Support Area Manager and branches with repairs and alterations.
