Job summary

Powys Teaching Health Board is seeking an MSK rehabilitation therapy assistant to join the North Powys MSK team. The role will be based in Welshpool with travel to clinics in Machynlleth to support patients and communities across North Powys.

You will work under qualified physiotherapists to deliver MSK interventions, assist patients to improve independence and functional ability, and participate in multi-disciplinary teams. A supportive environment encourages career development and well-being.

Qualifications

Job description

The post will involve delivering MSK physiotherapy interventions as delegated by a qualified physiotherapist.

The post will be based in Welshpool but travel will be required to support clinics in Machynlleth.

Main duties of the job

• To deliver interventions as delegated by therapists, to support patients toachieve their optimum level of independence and quality of life in the mostappropriate setting for the individual.
• To assist patients to overcome their difficulties, build confidence, and improve or maintain functional ability and independence in everyday tasks under the supervision of a therapist.
• To participate in multi-disciplinary teams promoting the role of rehabilitation and taking an active part in team projects.
• To organise and manage a delegated caseload; obtain service data, analyse where appropriate and bring forward ideas for service development.
