Job summary

Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Specialist Physiotherapist (Musculoskeletal) to join the MSK/JMAPS services at Wansbeck General Hospital and surrounding sites in Ashington. The post is Band 6, full-time, with flexible working arrangements and a permanent contract.

The role involves complex MSK caseload management, post-operative care, and opportunities for professional development within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• BSC Honours degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent.
• HCPC registration or eligible for registration.
• Evidence of continuing professional development.
• Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP).
• Student training qualification provided by University.

Responsibilities

• Assess and treat an independent musculoskeletal physiotherapy caseload.
• Work towards as a First Contact Practitioner with indirect supervision as required.
• Work as part of the physiotherapy team under supervision of senior staff.
• Assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate therapy programmes for a clinical caseload.
• Liaise with senior staff to ensure appropriate patient management.
• Provide supervision to Band 5, unregistered staff and students.
• Maintain evidence-based practice and update knowledge through ongoing CPD.

Education

BSC Honours degree in Physiotherapy

Registered Physiotherapist with HCPC

Evidence of continuing professional development

Member of Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
