Job summary

Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust invites applications for a substantive Consultant Radiologist with a Sub-specialty Interest in Musculoskeletal Imaging. The post is based at Southport and Ormskirk with options to work across other sites, supporting MSK radiologists amid expanding workload.

The appointee will participate in MDTs, contribute to audits and research, and help extend services while maintaining general radiology duties.

Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
• FRCR or equivalent specialist radiology qualification.
• Full GMC registration with Licence to Practice or within six months of Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT).
• UK-trained applicants must also hold CCT or be within six months of award at interview; overseas applicants must have CESR submission.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the expanding radiology workload and MDT input.
• Meet waiting list targets and enable the introduction of extended working.
• Supervise trainees and participate in audits, research and governance.
• Provide clinical service across sites and cover general radiology workload as needed.

Education

MBBS or equivalent medical qualification

FRCR or equivalent specialist radiology qualification

Membership of the Royal College of Radiologists (UK or equivalent)
