The role of the MRO Vertical Lift Team Lead will form part of a Maintenance, Repair and Operations (MRO) organisation within BDUK, working as part of a team in support of our key programmes. The individual will be responsible for ensuring established process adherence, accurate and timely work recording and contractual/regulatory compliance.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role provides direct leadership, control, oversight, mentoring and supervision of multidiscipline teams of supervisors, technicians and contractors. Will be experienced in aircraft maintenance, repair and modification of aircraft/components, with demonstrable technical knowledge. Will have proven ability to supervise, plan, sequence, distribute and control technical work and associated paperwork for working teams on the aircraft.
Will hold themselves and their teams to account on conduct, quality, safety and compliance, to maintain the highest standards.
Must hold or be able to obtain company Supervisory and Coordination authorisations on the aircraft type being worked on, independent inspections and maintenance work order co‑ordination and co‑ordination of aircraft release/release for flight.
The role requires an individual with excellent communication skills, able to engage with internal and external stakeholders, at all levels and a working knowledge of MAA MRP Part 145 regulations, Quality assurance, Hazard identification, Risk Management, Safety Management and occurrence reporting is required.
The role requires an individual with good communication skills, with the ability to distribute and sequence technical work requirements to their team, controlling demanding workloads, whilst delivering to a high standard, and maintaining schedule. The candidate must be capable of understanding and interpreting technical documents, drawings and associated publications. They must possess a working knowledge of MAA Regulatory Articles (RA), MAA Regulatory Publication (MRP) Part 145, aviation Quality Assurance (QA) and Safety Management System (SMS) and the application of these requirements within their area of responsibility, accountability and authority (RAA).
