Job summary

Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital is seeking an MRI Technologist to perform diagnostic MRI studies in pediatric patients under radiologist oversight.

Responsibilities include image acquisition, safety compliance, and collaboration with anesthesia and radiology staff for sedated exams; requires ARRT MR and Florida radiography license, plus BLS.

Qualifications

  • AMA accredited Radiologic Technology program completion.
  • 3 years MRI experience in neuro, body, musculoskeletal and vascular areas.
  • Florida Radiography License; ARRT MR; BLS (AHA).

Responsibilities

  • Produce and evaluate MRI images per protocol for radiologist interpretation.
  • Maintain safety and comply with MRI and facility policies.
  • Assist anesthesia in sedated MRI procedures as needed.
  • Maintain education and competency in imaging modalities.

Position Summary: The MRI Technologist

Performs complete and diagnostic Magnetic Resonance imaging studies of pediatric patients for radiologist interpretation.

Key Accountabilities
  • Produces and evaluates images according to defined protocols to assist the radiologist with timely interpretation of imaging exams and patients for treatment and plan of care for patients
  • Adheres to Radiology specific policies in regards to patient safety that are established by the Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, regulatory, and accreditation governing bodies
  • Maintains required levels of education that pertain to clinical, family, and patient centered care
  • Protects and complies with Magnetic Resonance Zone safety possessing knowledge of restrictions and contraindications; screens patient for contraindications to MRI and contrast administration in compliance with ACR guideline for MR Safety
  • Supports anesthesia staff in collaboration with Radiology nursing staff to prepare and monitor sedated patients in the MRI environment
Qualifications
  • Satisfactory completion of an AMA accredited Radiologic Technology program
  • 3 years’ MRI experience required in neuro, body, musculoskeletal and vascular areas
  • A.R.R.T. (R) (MR); Florida Radiography License; Current Basic Life Support, AHA
  • Strong computer skills in multiple databases for the acquisition and manipulation of image data, utilizing 3d, neuro-functional post-processing workstations, PACS and electronic charting
  • MRI contrast administration with IV skills

Location: Johns Hopkins All Children's Outpatient Care, 12220 Bruce B. Downs Blvd, Tampa, FL 33612

Shift: Mon - Fri, Day Shift 8:00 AM - 4:30PM; on-call rotation may include weekends

Status: Full-Time (40 hours per week)

Salary Range: Minimum $37.07/hour - Maximum $59.32/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
