Job summary

Imperial College Healthcare Nhs Trust is recruiting a Band 6 MRI Radiographer for the Community Diagnostic Centre in Wembley. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality outpatient MRI services while developing MRI expertise and leadership skills within a dynamic NHS setting.

You will work with the MRI Modality Lead and Band 7 Radiographers, contributing to daily MRI service delivery, patient safety and an excellent patient experience as part of the NHS Community Diagnostic Centre programme.

Qualifications

• BSc (Hons) Radiography or diploma, HCPC registered.
• Up‑to‑date knowledge of general imaging techniques.
• Experience of working unsupervised.

Responsibilities

• Perform a broad spectrum of MRI scanning procedures (neuro, renal, hepatobiliary, gynaecological).
• Ensure patient safety screening, iv contrast administration and documentation of procedures.
• Collaborate with Radiologists, Nursing, admin and clerical teams to maintain service quality.

We are seeking an ambitious Band 6 MRI Radiographer to join our growing team within the Community Diagnostic Centre at Wembley, making a significant impact on patient care across North West London through the delivery of a high-quality outpatient MRI service.

As our new Band 6 MRI Radiographer, you'll have the opportunity to develop and enhance your MRI clinical expertise while broadening your leadership, teaching and service development skills. Working with state-of-the-art equipment and a diverse patient population, you will play an important role in delivering outstanding imaging services as part of the NHS Community Diagnostic Centre programme.

Working alongside the MRI Modality Lead and Band 7 Radiographers, you'll be instrumental in delivering the daily MRI service, maintaining high standards of patient care and ensuring an exceptional patient experience. Main duties of the job

This role will involve performing a broad spectrum of MRI scanning procedures, including neuro, renal, hepatobiliary and gynaecological imaging. Integral to this are patient safety screening, administration of iv contrast / iv cannulation and maintaining documentation of procedures.

Currently this is mostly clinical work, although a small amount of research-based work is undertaken in the department. Communication and liaising with other staff groups including Radiologists, Nursing staff, admin and clerical.

Education/ qualifications

Essential

• BSc (Hons) Radiography, DCR (D) Diploma of the College of Radiographers or equivalent.
• HCPC registration
• Up -to-date knowledge of general imaging techniques.
• Experience of working unsupervised.
• Awareness of clinical governance issues in relation to patient care
• Knowledge of developments within the profession.
• Experience of working with cross-sectional imaging.
• Experience of training staff and students
• Previous experience, at least, band 6 level.
• MRI experience
• Demonstrate written communication skills, computer and other relevant IT skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, relatives and multidisciplinary team member
• Ability to work flexibly to meet service requirements
• Basic teaching, counselling and supervisory skills.
