Job summary

Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust is seeking a Band 6 Radiographer with a focus on CT and MRI to join the Queen Alexandra Hospital team on a 12‑hour rotating schedule. The department offers 6 CT scanners and 3 MRI scanners, with opportunities for development and mentorship within a supportive, busy environment.

The role requires HCPC registration, 2 years post‑graduate experience, and 4+ years post‑graduate experience in imaging, with night shift and on‑call rotas included.

Qualifications

• BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Imaging or Diploma in Diagnostic Imaging.
• HCPC registration is current and active.
• 2 years post-graduate experience in radiography is required.
• Portfolio evidence of CPD should be available.
• Previous NHS experience is preferred.
• 4+ years post-graduate experience.
• 2 years MRI experience across a range of clinical examinations.
• Extended clinical role including IV cannulations is desirable.

The CT/MRI department at Queen Alexandra Hospital is a fun, dynamic, vibrant and progressive department with state-of-the-art technology, located on the South coast of England in a lively city with deep historical roots.

We currently have vacancy for an enthusiastic, driven, and motivated Band 6 Radiographers, with a keen interest to specialise in CT and MRI scanning to join our team.

The department has the benefit of cutting-edge CT and MRI technology and provides staff with the exciting opportunity to work with the latest technology in a clinical setting. The department is equipped with 6 CT scanners and 3 MRI scanners with all staff encouraged to rotate through both modalities. This post is to support the addition of a new MRI unit.

We are an innovative team, with a very friendly and caring atmosphere, currently operating a 12hr shift system over 7 days. There is also a requirement to contribute to the night shift and on‑call rotas.
