Job summary

NHS Western Isles is starting a new MRI service in Autumn 2026. We invite applicants for Band 6 Radiographer posts to help run the MRI service at Western Isles Hospital in Stornoway. Posts are full-time or part-time with on-call commitment and relocation support.

The successful candidate will hold a DCR or BSc in Diagnostic Radiography, have MRI/CT/x-ray/fluoroscopy experience, and be eligible for HCPC registration. A Postgraduate MRI certificate or start within 12 months is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in MRI, CT, x-ray and fluoroscopy.
• Post graduate certificate in MRI or start within 12 months of joining.
• Proven NHS experience and HCPC registration.

Responsibilities

• Operate MRI, CT and radiographic imaging safely and accurately.
• Contribute to a new MRI service in a remote rural hospital setting.
• Support on-call duties from home as required.
