Job summary

The Christie NHS Foundation Trust in Manchester is seeking an experienced MR Reporting Radiographer to join our high-performing team. This is a unique opportunity as our first MR reporting radiographer, with a pathway to postgraduate MR brain reporting under a consultant mentor.

As a senior member of the MR team, you will lead radiography across four scanners, autonomously interpret MR brain scans for first presentation brain metastasis, and work with multidisciplinary colleagues to optimise

Qualifications

• BSc in Diagnostic Radiography (or equivalent).
• HCPC registration.
• Evidence of postgraduate study.
• Strong background in MR imaging.
• Ability to use own initiative, analyse and solve problems and make decisions.
• Ability to build, maintain and develop effective working relationships inside and outside the Trust.
• Extensive technical knowledge of MR in a clinical oncology setting.
• Understanding of hazards posed by magnetic field and RF in MR environment.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and staying up to date with industry advancements.

Responsibilities

• Autonomously interpret and report MR brain scans in patients with first presentation brain metastasis.
• Provide leadership and guidance to a team of radiographers, promoting their professional growth and development.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support accurate and timely diagnosis and treatment planning.
• Drive the implementation of new technologies and techniques, staying at the forefront of advancements in MR radiography.
• Participate in departmental audits, research projects and quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery.
