Job summary

McLaren Automotive is seeking an experienced Paint Shop Technician to join our production team. You will follow detailed painting processes, perform at your station within takt, escalate issues to leadership as needed, and uphold 5S and safety standards across the line.

The role requires proven paint application experience and the ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality finishes on our supercars. The department values teamwork and continual improvement.

Qualifications

  • Understanding processes/work instructions to deliver a consistent process.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety risk assessments and their meaning.
  • Ability to make sound and logical decisions.
  • Experience of working under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Proven experience and knowledge within paint application is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and follow detailed process documents relating to the painting of vehicles.
  • Ensure that station operations on each vehicle are completed within takt and to a high standard.
  • Escalate to your leader any concerns affecting quality, cost or productivity.
  • Maintain 5s in the work area in line with McLaren expectations.
  • Maintain standards such as wearing provided uniform/clothing.
  • Keep a safe working environment for yourself and team members.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities as requested by your leader.
  • Experience within paint application is essential.

Job description

What to Expect

As a technician within production, specifically the paint shop, reporting to the Team Leader/Group Leader at McLaren Automotive, you will take on a role in ensuring the seamless and efficient operation within one of our paint Process areas, ensuring your paint process is delivered to a high standard. This may involve Load, unload, inspection of the panels or paint application.

Your primary responsibility will be to ensure all health and safety guidelines are adhered to, the paint process (PES) is followed to ensure a smooth finish to our supercars and the desired standard is achieved. Any concerns to the finish of the panels are quickly escalated to your line manager. Your contributions will be instrumental in achieving our ambitious goals as a company.

What You'll Do
