Job Description

This role is categorized as hybrid, requiring the successful candidate to report to Concord, NC three times per week, with flexibility for weekend race events.

Responsibilities

1. Apply data science and modeling techniques to develop and refine race strategy tools.
2. Refine existing AI/ML models and develop platforms for Monte Carlo simulations.
3. Create tire degradation models and develop visualization tools.
4. Collaborate with teams to implement and verify race strategy tools.
5. Analyze vehicle pace, race dynamics, and support other racing series.
6. Co-develop race strategy software with data science and IT teams.
7. Transfer learning techniques across different racing series.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
• 5+ years in top-level motorsports series with experience in strategy tools.
• Knowledge of motorsports race strategy and analysis during live events.
• Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, or similar programming languages.
• Familiarity with AI/ML modeling techniques.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to travel within the US (~10%).

Preferred:

• Master’s degree in a related field.
• Experience in tire modeling, simulation workflows, machine learning libraries, and big data tools.
