Job Description

This onsite role is based in Concord, NC, and reports full-time to the location.

The Role

We are seeking a Senior Mechatronics Engineer to join the Aero Innovation team within the Motorsports Aerodynamic Department. Your main responsibility will be to develop mechatronics systems that improve the productivity and capabilities of our aerodynamics development for motorsport and high-performance vehicles. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to design, develop, and optimize solutions to technical challenges, contributing significantly to our competitiveness.

What You’ll Do
  • Design, develop, and integrate complex mechatronic systems for automotive and aerodynamic testing.
  • Create detailed system architectures and specifications meeting or exceeding requirements.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to develop innovative solutions.
  • Coordinate with external suppliers, evaluate components, and select suitable technologies.
  • Conduct system testing, analysis, and debugging to ensure performance and reliability.
  • Manage delivery of prototypes and production solutions, including mechanical design, PCB layout, firmware/software integration, and testing.
  • Prepare and present technical reports, specifications, and presentations to stakeholders.
What You’ll Need (Required Qualifications)
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in mechatronics engineering with a successful track record.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and software integration; experience with multidisciplinary system design.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Siemens NX, CATIA).
  • Experience with embedded systems, microcontrollers, and programming languages (C, C++, Python).
  • Hands-on experience with sensors, actuators, control systems, and power electronics.
  • Ability to multitask in a dynamic environment with excellent organization, collaboration, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience with automotive, motorsports, or aerodynamics testing.
  • Familiarity with MATLAB/Simulink for system simulation.
  • Expertise in CAD and mechanical design.
  • Knowledge of control systems and theory.
