This role is categorized as onsite, requiring the successful candidate to report to Concord, NC on a full-time basis.

The Role

We are seeking a Senior Mechatronics Engineer to join the Aero Innovation team within the Motorsports Aerodynamic Department. Your primary responsibility will be to develop mechatronic systems that enhance the productivity and capabilities of our aerodynamics development processes for motorsport and high-performance production vehicles. As part of our multidisciplinary team, you will design, develop, and optimize solutions to address various technical challenges, significantly contributing to our competitiveness.

What You’ll Do
  • Design, develop, and integrate complex mechatronic systems for automotive and aerodynamic testing.
  • Create detailed system architectures and specifications meeting product requirements.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to develop innovative solutions.
  • Coordinate with external suppliers, evaluate components, and select suitable technologies.
  • Conduct system testing, analysis, and debugging to ensure functionality and performance.
  • Manage the delivery of prototypes and production solutions, including mechanical design, PCB layout, firmware/software integration, and testing.
  • Prepare and present technical reports, specifications, and presentations to stakeholders.

What You’ll Need (Required Qualifications)
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in mechatronics engineering with a proven track record.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and software integration, and multidisciplinary system design experience.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Siemens NX, CATIA).
  • Experience with embedded systems, microcontrollers, and programming languages (C, C++, Python).
  • Hands-on experience with sensors, actuators, control systems, and power electronics.
  • Ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment with excellent organization and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in relevant engineering fields.
  • Experience in automotive, motorsports, or aerodynamics testing.
  • Familiarity with system simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink).
  • Expertise in CAD and mechanical design.
  • Knowledge of control systems and theory.
