Job Description:

Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. The successful candidate is expected to report to Concord, NC on a full-time basis.

The Role: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Data Processing Engineer to join the Aero Innovation team within the Motorsports Aerodynamic Department. Your primary responsibility will be to develop complex data pipelines and data-processing systems that enhance our aerodynamics development activities for motorsport and high-performance production vehicles. You will be at the forefront of designing, developing, and optimizing solutions to address technical challenges, contributing significantly to our competitiveness.

You will work cross-functionally with partners and help shape the future of motorsports.

What You’ll Do:
  • Architect, design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines for large volumes of structured and unstructured data from multiple sources.
  • Collaborate with data engineers and teams to integrate data from various platforms (on-prem and cloud databases, data lakes, APIs, third-party vendors).
  • Ensure data integrity, consistency, and quality through automated validation and monitoring.
  • Identify and optimize performance bottlenecks in data workflows.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into data solutions.
  • Write clean, maintainable, well-documented code following best practices.
  • Prepare and present technical reports and specifications to stakeholders.

What You’ll Need (Required Qualifications):
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering or related fields.
  • Proficient in Python, C++, Java.
  • Experience with Kafka, Flink, Databricks.
  • Knowledge of distributed computing systems like SLURM, LSF.
  • Familiarity with relational and non-relational databases (SQL, MongoDB).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent collaboration skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

This job may be eligible for relocation benefits.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
  • Experience in the motorsports industry.
  • Knowledge of data governance, privacy, security practices.
  • Experience with HPC architecture.
  • Hands-on experience with instrumentation and Data Acquisition systems.
  • Developing Live Streaming data pipelines.
  • Familiarity with aerodynamic testing and practices.
