Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. The successful candidate is expected to report to Concord, NC on a full-time basis.

The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Data Processing Engineer to join the Aero Innovation team within the Motorsports Aerodynamic Department. Your primary responsibility will be to develop complex data pipelines and data-processing systems that enhance the productivity and capabilities of our aerodynamics development activities for both motorsport and high-performance production vehicles. As part of our multidisciplinary team, you will design, develop, and optimize state-of-the-art solutions to tackle challenging technical obstacles. Your role is crucial and will significantly contribute to our competitiveness.

What You’ll Do

  • Architect, design, build, and maintain scalable and efficient data pipelines to process large volumes of structured and unstructured data from multiple sources.
  • Collaborate with data engineers and other teams to integrate data from various platforms (e.g., on-prem and cloud databases, data lakes, APIs, third-party vendors).
  • Ensure data integrity, consistency, and quality through automated validation and monitoring.
  • Identify performance bottlenecks and optimize data processing workflows for speed and reliability.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into data solutions.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices.
  • Prepare and present technical reports, specifications, and presentations to stakeholders.

What You’ll Need (Required Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, processing, or related fields.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, Java.
  • Experience with data processing tools/platforms like Kafka, Flink, Databricks.
  • Knowledge of distributed computing management systems like SLURM, LSF.
  • Familiarity with relational and non-relational databases (SQL, MongoDB).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Effective collaboration skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
  • Experience in the motorsports industry.
  • Knowledge of data governance, privacy, and security best practices.
  • Experience with HPC architecture and Data Acquisition systems.
  • Skills in developing Live Streaming data pipelines.
  • Familiarity with aerodynamic testing and practices.
