Job Description:

This role is categorized as onsite, requiring reporting to Concord, NC on a full-time basis.

The Role

GM Motorsports supports racing in multiple series including NASCAR, IndyCar, IMSA, WEC, and Formula 1. We seek a highly motivated CAD Engineer to design and develop racecar components, covering the entire product development cycle from concept to production. Responsibilities include designing parts and systems, optimizing via finite-element analysis, and participating in design reviews. Support to end users or customers post-delivery may also be required.

What You'll Do

• Utilize Catia experience and analytical skills for parts design
• Collaborate with race program teams with a client-oriented approach
• Share knowledge and learn in a fast-paced environment

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field
• 3+ years’ experience in automotive, motorsports, aerospace, or similar industry
• Proficiency in CAD (CATIA or 3DX) and FEA tools (HyperMesh, Abaqus)
• Strong understanding of part design, materials, and rapid prototyping
• Solid and surface modeling skills
• Innovative mindset and project management skills
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• Passion for motorsports and vehicle dynamics knowledge
• Ability to troubleshoot efficiently

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
