Job summary

Northgate Vehicle Hire in Exeter is seeking a Vehicle Technician to maintain and repair our hire fleet to ensure safety and legal compliance. The role requires Level 2 qualification with 3+ years as a technician or Level 3/Machine/Mechanic certification, with a strong emphasis on teamwork and hands-on skills.

You will benefit from our IMI accredited training program, plus opportunities to work on Hybrid and EV systems as part of ongoing upskilling.

Qualifications

• As a Vehicle Technician you should be Level 2 qualified with at least 3 years’ experience as a technician/mechanic or Level 3/Machine/Mechanic qualified.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain safety and compliance on vehicles.
• Good team player with practical hands-on skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair vehicles to ensure safety and legal compliance for hire.
• Work at Exeter site as part of a small, experienced workshop team.
• Participate in internal IMI training to upskill on hybrids, EVs, braking systems, electrics.

Salary: £43,639 pa OTE (basic £37,639 pa + £3,011 pa bonus OTE + Overtime)and take advantage of our exceptional £3,000 ‘Golden Hello’.

Weekly Hours:

42.5 hours / Day Shifts Only. As and when required overtime is available and this is paid at time and half.

About you:

As a Vehicle Technician you are responsible for the maintenance and repair of our vehicles to ensure they are safe and legally compliant for our customers to hire. If you areLevel 2 Qualified Technician with at least 3 years employment as a technician/mechanic or fully qualifiedLevel 3 Technician/ Mechanic, we would love to hear from you.

We have our own internalIMI accredited trainingdepartment, where we can upskill you on such things as Hybrid & EV vehicle repair, Tail lift, braking systems, electrics etc:

For those trained to Level 2, you can take a training needs analysis so we can build a personalised training program for you to increase your skillset.
