Job summary

Northgate Vehicle Hire, part of ZIGUP plc, is recruiting a Vehicle Technician to maintain and repair our fleet so every vehicle is safe and legally compliant for customers to hire.

If you are a Level 2 or Level 3 technician with several years’ experience, you’ll join our IMI-accredited training program, with opportunities to upskill in hybrid, EV systems, braking, electrics and more. The role includes a bonus scheme up to 8%, enhanced overtime, and a generous holiday entitlement.

Qualifications

• Must be Level 2 Qualified Technician with at least 3 years employment as a technician/mechanic or fully qualified Level 3 Technician.
• Experience maintaining and repairing light vehicles to ensure roadworthy and compliant status.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair company fleet to ensure safe, compliant vehicles for hire.
• Work to IMI-accredited training programmes and upskill in areas like hybrid/EV systems, braking and electrics.

£43,639 pa OTE (basic £37,639 pa + £3,011 pa bonus OTE + Overtime) + £3k 'Golden Hello'

Weekly Hours

42.5 hours / Day Shifts Only. As and when required overtime is available and this is paid at time and half.

About you

As a Vehicle Technician you are responsible for the maintenance and repair of our vehicles to ensure they are safe and legally compliant for our customers to hire. If you are Level 2 Qualified Technician with at least 3 years employment as a technician/mechanic or fully qualified Level 3 Technician / Mechanic, we would love to hear from you.

About our training

We have our own internal IMI accredited training department, where we can upskill you on such things as Hybrid & EV vehicle repair, Tail lift, braking systems, electrics etc.

For those trained to Level 2, you can take a training needs analysis so we can build a personalised training program for you to increase your skillset.
