Job summary

Cox Motor Group is hiring a Motor Vehicle Technician/MOT Tester for our Lancaster dealership. Based at Lancaster Volkswagen/SEAT, you will service and repair vehicles to high standards, diagnose faults and perform road tests.

You will be expected to work 39 hours per week over four days, with overtime and progression opportunities, and a strong focus on customer service.

Qualifications

• Qualified to Level 3 in Light Vehicle Mechanics, Maintenance Repair or equivalent.
• Experience working as a Vehicle Technician is essential.
• MOT licence preferable.
• Full clean UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Detect and diagnose vehicle faults to establish work required.
• Carry out servicing and repairs to a high standard.
• Road test vehicles and ensure parts are stored correctly.

Education

You will be based at our Lancaster Volkswagen/SEAT service department.

We are looking for people who share our passion for our brands, with experience of servicing and repairing vehicles to a high standard, and who are qualified to Level 3 in Light Vehicle Mechanics, Maintenance Repair or equivalent. All employees play a vital part in putting the customer first, delivering a great customer experience.

As a technician you will be responsible for detecting and diagnosing vehicles faults to establish the work required, and ensure that the subsequent work carried out is carried out accurately and in a timely manner. You will be responsible for vehicle road testing and ensuring vehicle parts are stored and handled correctly. The ideal person will take pride in ensuring our customers are provided with the very best service. As a busy and fast paced dealership, every working day will be varied with excellent opportunities to achieve your efficiency-based bonuses.
