Qualifications

  • City and Guilds certificate in motor vehicle technology or NVQ Level 3 required.
  • Minimum 3 GCSEs or equivalent and full driving license needed.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for experienced Motor Vehicle Technicians to join our expanding Fleet workshop teams, working as part of Fleet Operations at North West Ambulance Service.

The current vacancy is at our Workington Workshop.

NWAS Fleet Operations is part of the NHS, providing vital support to our ambulance fleet.

Main duties of the job

Our technicians are supported by a dedicated management team, ensuring optimal vehicle throughput and minimizing delays and supply chain issues.

With over 1150 vehicles, each day offers variety and the chance to work in a collaborative environment with like-minded professionals.

Enhanced payment applies for weekend work.

Operational hours are 08:00 to 16:00, Monday to Friday, with 365-day coverage.

The successful candidate will join our dedicated team in a professional environment that fosters growth and career development within NWAS.

Person specification

Qualifications and Education

  • City and Guilds certificate in motor vehicle technology or NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 GCSEs or equivalent
  • Full Driving Licence
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development
  • Driving Licence C1 + D1 (training in progress)
  • MOT Tester qualification
