Job summary

Bedford College Group in Central Bedfordshire is seeking a Teaching Assistant (Level 2) to support students in the Motor Vehicle, Engineering and Construction programmes. You will assist with learning activities, resources, and classroom coverage as needed.

The role requires a Level 3 qualification in the subject area, English and Maths at grade 4/C or above, strong communication and IT skills, and a commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education.

Qualifications

• Relevant Level 3 qualification in the specialist subject area with Grade 4/C or above in English and Maths.
• Experience supporting teaching and learning with learners aged 16+ and/or adult learners.
• Ability to manage classroom behaviour and maintain an inclusive, engaging learning environment.
• Strong communication, IT skills and ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Support students' learning and inclusion in Motor Vehicle, Engineering and Construction.
• Prepare learning resources and provide class cover when required.
• Supervise educational visits and activities ensuring safety.
• Collaborate with teaching staff and participate in meetings and training.
• Uphold safeguarding, equality, diversity and health & safety requirements.
