Job summary

Qualifications

• Relevant experience within motor vehicle maintenance, mechanics, or the automotive industry.
• Automotive qualifications are desirable; practical knowledge of vehicle systems, servicing, diagnostics and repair.
• Strong communication of technical information to learners.
• Ability to supervise practical workshop activities.
• Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply.

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are seeking a knowledgeable and practically skilled Motor Vehicle / Mechanic Instructor to work within an educational setting in Wakefield (WF1). This opportunity would suit an experienced automotive professional or instructor who can demonstrate mechanical processes clearly, supervise practical activities, and help learners develop valuable industry-relevant skills.

As a Motor Vehicle or Mechanic Instructor, you will combine technical instruction with hands-on workshop learning, supporting students as they develop their understanding of vehicle systems, maintenance, diagnostics, and safe working practices.
