Job summary

Wigan & Leigh College and University Centre is seeking a Motor Vehicle Engineering Lecturer to teach across Level 1 and Level 2 programmes. You will bring real industry experience into the classroom, helping students develop practical workshop skills and confidence for further study or employment.

You will contribute to curriculum development, support college events, and promote high standards of health, safety and professional conduct in a busy workshop environment.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification in Motor Vehicle Engineering.
• Current or recent industry experience in motor vehicle engineering, diagnostics or repair.
• Experience teaching, training, coaching or supporting learners.

Responsibilities

• Teach Motor Vehicle Engineering across practical and theory-based programmes.
• Deliver learning at Level 1 and Level 2.
• Help students build technical knowledge, workshop skills and professional behaviours.
• Use industry experience to keep learning current and practical.
• Demonstrate safe use of tools and workshop processes.
• Assess learner progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Maintain accurate attendance and progression records.
• Support learners to progress into further study or employment.
• Contribute to curriculum development including electric and hybrid technologies.
