Job summary

Christie Lites in Coventry is seeking a Repair Technician to service rental lighting, control and FX equipment to CL standards. You will diagnose faults, perform electrical and mechanical repairs, and log all work in the Repair Tracking System.

This full-time role offers a 40-hour week with overtime paid at time and a half, plus a standard benefits package including PTO. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, highly organized, and able to collaborate effectively with the team.

Qualifications

• Experience diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical faults in lighting and control gear.
• Ability to document repairs clearly in tracking systems.
• Experience working in a fast-paced rental equipment environment.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair CL rental equipment across lighting, control and FX products.
• Record every repair in the Repair Tracking System.
• Order parts when stock is low and manage maintenance tasks.
• Keep work area clean and organized; return tools to storage.
• Perform preventative maintenance as outlined in the guide.

Job Purpose

The Repair Technician repairs equipment to Christie Lites standards.

Responsibilities

1. Diagnoses and fixes issues with CL rental equipment by:

• Repairing electrical and/or mechanical faults in Lighting, Control and Special FX products including ancillary equipment such as main distribution and networking.
• Limiting the electronic repairs to circuit board level.
• Modifying and upgrading ORPL equipment to CL standards as specified in CL Technotes.
• Recording all repairs in Repair Tracking Systems.
• Placing Parts orders when not in stock.
• Carrying out preventative maintenance as outlined in the Service Reference Guide.

2. Maintains a clean and organized work area by:

• Ensuring all tools and supplies are returned to proper storage areas at the end of shift.
• Ensuring equipment waiting for repair is stored in an organized and tidy manner.
• Cleaning workstation and common areas as assigned.
• Removing recycling and waste to designated disposal areas.
• Informing Department Head of low stocks of supplies.

• Starting pay:£15 per hour
• Full-time schedule: 40 hours per week
