Job summary

DEPT® in London is seeking a Lead Motion Designer to set motion art direction across brand work, translating concepts into animated content that tells a story.

You will own the end-to-end motion design process, mentor junior designers, and collaborate with designers, art directors, and creatives to develop motion systems aligned with brand guidelines.

Qualifications

• Solid experience as Motion Designer or similar role.
• Outstanding showreel/portfolio demonstrating motion craft.
• Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and related tools.
• Ability to meet deadlines and collaborate with teams.
• Strong communication and attention to detail.
• Interest in new formats and AI-assisted workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead motion design on projects across brands, translating concepts into animated content.
• Own end-to-end motion design process: concepting, storyboarding, animatics, production, delivery.
• Work across motion and static; support graphic design needs when required.
• Collaborate with designers, art directors and creatives to develop motion systems.
• Mentor junior and mid-level motion designers with feedback and guidance.
• Manage multiple projects with tight deadlines across accounts.
• Explore new tools and formats, including AI-assisted workflows.
• Present creative rationale to internal teams and clients as needed.
