Job summary

Webrecruit in Swindon is seeking an MOT Tester to join our busy automotive retail centre. You will test light vehicles to DVSA standards and input results on the DVSA computer system.

The role requires an MOT Tester licence, a flexible attitude, and good communication. The company offers training opportunities, a pension scheme after probation, staff discounts, and a supportive team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out MOT tests to DVSA standard and input details on the DVSA computer system
• To fit any product specified by the Company to customer vehicles and carry out a range of ancillary services to customer vehicles
• To maintain the cleanliness of the Centre and its equipment on an ongoing basis
• To increase sales of products and services offered by the Company, in accordance with procedures
• To adhere to the Company’s Policy & Procedures
• To comply with reasonable instructions from Management
• Uniform is provided and must be clean and presentable at all times
• To be available for work at the times specified by the Company
• There are training opportunities to further your career within the Company
• The role reports directly to the Centre Manager

Job description

Hours: The Company's normal opening times are Monday to Friday 8.30am to 6.00pm, Saturday 8.30am hours to 5.00pm hours and Sunday 10.00am to 4.00pm. Working hours to be discussed at interview

Salary: Dependent on experience

Holiday: 20 days per year, plus statutory holidays

The main objective of the role will be to MOT test light vehicles as set out by DVSA in a safe and efficient manner.

The successful candidate will be part of a small team, but should be equally happy working on their own and should take a great degree of pride in carrying out tasks to an extremely high standard.

Job Responsibilities:

• All MOT Testers must hold a valid MOT Tester licence which is issued by the DVSA
• To carry out MOT test to DVSA standard and input the details on the DVSA computer system
• To fit any product specified by the Company to customer vehicles and carry out a range of ancillary services to customer vehicles
• To maintain the cleanliness of the Centre and its equipment on an ongoing basis
• To increase sales of products and services offered by the Company, in accordance with procedures
• To adhere to the Company’s Policy & Procedures
• To comply with reasonable instructions from Management
• The company will supply you with uniform, it must be clean and presentable at all times
• To be available for work at the times specified by the Company
