Job summary

Webrecruit is seeking a dedicated MOT Tester to join our automotive centre and perform MOT tests on light vehicles in line with DVSA standards. You will be part of a small team, but capable of working independently while maintaining high-quality workmanship.

Hours are discussed at interview; salary is dependent on experience. The role includes training opportunities, uniform and wellbeing benefits as part of a supportive employer.

Qualifications

• All MOT Testers must hold a valid MOT Tester licence issued by the DVSA.
• Experience in a busy retail automotive environment is desirable.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage your workload.

Responsibilities

• Carry out MOT tests to DVSA standards and input details into the DVSA computer system.
• Fit products specified by the Company to customer vehicles and provide ancillary services.
• Maintain cleanliness of the centre and equipment on a continual basis.
• Increase sales of products and services following Company procedures.
• Adhere to Company policies and procedures and comply with management instructions.
• Uniform will be supplied and must be kept clean and presentable.
• Be available for work at times specified by the Company.
• There are training opportunities to further your career within the Company.

Job description

Hours: The Company's normal opening times are Monday to Friday 8.30am to 6.00pm, Saturday 8.30am hours to 5.00pm hours and Sunday 10.00am to 4.00pm. Working hours to be discussed at interview

Salary: Dependent on experience

Holiday: 20 days per year, plus statutory holidays

The ideal candidate will have a flexible approach to tasks and be able to manage their own workload, be an excellent communicator with proven experience of working in a busy retail environment in an automotive setting.

The main objective of the role will be to MOT test light vehicles as set out by DVSA in a safe and efficient manner.

The successful candidate will be part of a small team, but should be equally happy working on their own and should take a great degree of pride in carrying out tasks to an extremely high standard.

Job Responsibilities:

• All MOT Testers must hold a valid MOT Tester licence which is issued by the DVSA
• To carry out MOT test to DVSA standard and input the details on the DVSA computer system
• To fit any product specified by the Company to customer vehicles and carry out a range of ancillary services to customer vehicles
• To maintain the cleanliness of the Centre and its equipment on an ongoing basis
• To increase sales of products and services offered by the Company, in accordance with procedures
• To adhere to the Company’s Policy & Procedures
• To comply with reasonable instructions from Management
• The company will supply you with uniform, it must be clean and presentable at all times
• To be available for work at the times specified by the Company
