Job summary

Webrecruit is seeking a diligent MOT tester to join our automotive services team. The role focuses on conducting MOT tests for light vehicles to DVSA standards and ensuring accurate DVSA system input. You will also fit products to customer vehicles and aid in service delivery.

The successful candidate will work within a small team, yet also handle individual tasks with pride, maintaining high standards across the centre and its equipment.

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate will be flexible and able to manage their own workload.
• Excellent communication skills are essential for a busy retail automotive environment.
• Experience in a retail setting within automotive services is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform MOT tests on light vehicles in accordance with DVSA standards.
• Record test results and input details into the DVSA computer system.
• Fit products specified by the Company to customer vehicles and service accordingly.
• Maintain cleanliness of the centre and equipment on an ongoing basis.
• Work to increase sales of products and services following procedures.
• Adhere to the Company’s policies and procedures and follow management instructions.
• Wear and keep uniform clean and presentable at all times.
• Be available for work at the times specified by the Company.

Job description

Hours: The Company's normal opening times are Monday to Friday 8.30am to 6.00pm, Saturday 8.30am hours to 5.00pm hours and Sunday 10.00am to 4.00pm. Working hours to be discussed at interview

Salary: Dependent on experience

Holiday: 20 days per year, plus statutory holidays

The ideal candidate will have a flexible approach to tasks and be able to manage their own workload, be an excellent communicator with proven experience of working in a busy retail environment in an automotive setting.

The main objective of the role will be to MOT test light vehicles as set out by DVSA in a safe and efficient manner.

The successful candidate will be part of a small team, but should be equally happy working on their own and should take a great degree of pride in carrying out tasks to an extremely high standard.

Job Responsibilities:

• All MOT Testers must hold a valid MOT Tester licence which is issued by the DVSA
• To carry out MOT test to DVSA standard and input the details on the DVSA computer system
• To fit any product specified by the Company to customer vehicles and carry out a range of ancillary services to customer vehicles
• To maintain the cleanliness of the Centre and its equipment on an ongoing basis
• To increase sales of products and services offered by the Company, in accordance with procedures
• To adhere to the Company’s Policy & Procedures
• To comply with reasonable instructions from Management
• The company will supply you with uniform, it must be clean and presentable at all times
• To be available for work at the times specified by the Company
