Job summary

Webrecruit is seeking a flexible MOT Tester to join our busy automotive centre. The role focuses on carrying out MOT tests to DVSA standards, inspecting light vehicles, and inputting details into the DVSA computer system.

You will work as part of a small team or independently as required and maintain high standards of vehicle cleanliness and customer service. The ideal candidate will hold a valid MOT Tester licence, have experience in a busy retail environment, and be an excellent communicator.

Qualifications

• Holder of valid MOT Tester licence issued by DVSA.
• Proven experience in busy retail environment within an automotive setting.
• Ability to adhere to DVSA standards and Company policies.

Responsibilities

• Carry out MOT tests to DVSA standards and input details into the DVSA computer system.
• Fit products/services as specified by the Company to customer vehicles; carry out ancillary services.
• Maintain cleanliness of the Centre and equipment on an ongoing basis.
• Aim to increase sales of products and services in line with procedures.
• Adhere to Company policies and procedures and comply with management instructions.
• Wear and present Company uniform which must be clean and presentable at all times.
• Be available for work at the times specified by the Company.

Job description

Hours: The Company's normal opening times are Monday to Friday 8.30am to 6.00pm, Saturday 8.30am hours to 5.00pm hours and Sunday 10.00am to 4.00pm. Working hours to be discussed at interview

Salary: Dependent on experience

Holiday: 20 days per year, plus statutory holidays

The ideal candidate will have a flexible approach to tasks and be able to manage their own workload, be an excellent communicator with proven experience of working in a busy retail environment in an automotive setting.

The main objective of the role will be to MOT test light vehicles as set out by DVSA in a safe and efficient manner.

The successful candidate will be part of a small team, but should be equally happy working on their own and should take a great degree of pride in carrying out tasks to an extremely high standard.

Job Responsibilities:

• All MOT Testers must hold a valid MOT Tester licence which is issued by the DVSA
• To carry out MOT test to DVSA standard and input the details on the DVSA computer system
• To fit any product specified by the Company to customer vehicles and carry out a range of ancillary services to customer vehicles
• To maintain the cleanliness of the Centre and its equipment on an ongoing basis
• To increase sales of products and services offered by the Company, in accordance with procedures
• To adhere to the Company’s Policy & Procedures
• To comply with reasonable instructions from Management
• The company will supply you with uniform, it must be clean and presentable at all times
• To be available for work at the times specified by the Company
