Job summary

Arnold Clark is hiring an MOT Tester at our Workington Motorstore. You will perform MOT tests, identify defects, and ensure documentation is complete while delivering excellent customer service and technical guidance.

You will work with a skilled team, stay updated with MOT guidelines, and have opportunities for career growth and EV training as part of our progressive program.

Qualifications

• Qualified Technician – Minimum level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance certification (level 3 preferred).
• DVSA Tester Certification required.
• Full UK Driving Licence essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform MOT tests in line with DVSA standards.
• Identify vehicle defects and failures.
• Keep documentation and records of inspections up to date.
• Provide exceptional customer service and technical advice.

About The Role

As an MOT Tester, you’ll be a key player in ensuring our customers' vehicles are safe and roadworthy. You’ll work with a skilled, motivated team in a dynamic environment, gaining hands-on experience with a wide variety of makes and models. Plus, you'll stay ahead of the curve with the latest automotive technology!

Day-to-day duties

• Performing MOT tests in line with DVSA standards
• Identifying vehicle defects and failures
• Keeping up to date with current MOT testing guidelines and best practices
• Maintaining accurate documentation and records of inspections
• Providing exceptional customer service and technical advice

What We’re Looking For

• Qualified Technician – Minimum level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance certification (level 3 preferred)
• Experienced & Skilled – Solid background in an MOT testing role
• DVSA Tester Certification
• Team Player – Able to work efficiently alone or with colleagues
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Detail-Oriented – Committed to delivering high-quality work
