Job summary

Perfect Placement UK Ltd, on behalf of a reputable dealership in Wantage, is seeking a qualified MOT Tester to ensure accurate MOT testing and vehicle servicing. The role offers clear career progression within a family-owned business focused on staff development and customer satisfaction.

You will carry out MOT tests to Ministry standards, document results, and support workshop operations. A Class 4/7 MOT licence, UK driving licence, and NVQ Level 2/3 or substantial MOT experience are required.

Qualifications

• Active Class 4 and 7 MOT testing licence is required.
• UK driving licence with minimal points.
• NVQ Level 2/3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Carry out MOT tests on customer vehicles to Ministry standards.
• Diagnose vehicle issues and perform associated servicing and repairs.
• Complete accurate reports and documentation for each vehicle tested.
• Support workshop activities to maintain an efficient workflow.
• Liaise with team members to ensure high standards of service delivery.
• Follow health and safety protocols and maintain workshop cleanliness and organisation.

Job description

We are seeking a qualified and experienced MOT Tester to join our client's reputable dealership in Wantage, Oxfordshire. This MOT Tester role offers excellent career progression within a well-established, family-owned business committed to staff development and customer satisfaction.

• Salary up to £40,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications

Duties of an MOT Tester:

• Carry out MOT tests on customer vehicles in accordance with Ministry standards
• Diagnose vehicle issues and perform associated servicing and repairs
• Complete accurate reports and documentation for each vehicle tested
• Support workshop activities to maintain an efficient workflow
• Liaise effectively with team members to ensure high standards of service delivery
• Follow health and safety protocols and maintain workshop cleanliness and organisation

Requirements of an MOT Tester:

• Active Class 4 and 7 MOT testing licence
• Valid UK driving licence with minimal points
• NVQ Level 2/3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent qualification preferred
• Alternatively, significant practical experience in vehicle repair and maintenance with an active MOT licence
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
• Flexibility to work Monday to Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm, with 1 in 3 Saturdays (8:30am-12:30pm)
