Job summary

Arnold Clark Group is seeking an MOT Tester to join our team in the UK. You’ll perform MOT tests, identify defects, and ensure vehicles are safe and roadworthy to DVSA standards while working with a skilled, supportive team.

We offer £40,000–£50,000 DOE plus benefits, overtime at time and a half, up to 33 days’ annual leave, flexible hours, EV‑accreditation training, private healthcare, salary reviews and generous staff discounts.

Qualifications

• Must hold Level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance certification; Level 3 preferred.
• DVSA Tester Certification required.
• Full UK Driving Licence required.

Responsibilities

• Perform MOT tests in line with DVSA standards.
• Identify vehicle defects and failures.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records of inspections.
• Provide exceptional customer service and technical advice.
• Stay up to date with current MOT testing guidelines and best practices.

About the role

As an MOT Tester, you’ll be a key player in ensuring our customers' vehicles are safe and roadworthy. You’ll work with a skilled, motivated team in a dynamic environment, gaining hands‑on experience with a wide variety of makes and models. Plus, you’ll stay ahead of the curve with the latest automotive technology!

Day‑to‑day duties

• Performing MOT tests in line with DVSA standards
• Identifying vehicle defects and failures
• Keeping up to date with current MOT testing guidelines and best practices
• Maintaining accurate documentation and records of inspections
• Providing exceptional customer service and technical advice

What we’re looking for:

• Qualified Technician – Minimum level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance certification (level 3 preferred)
• Experienced & Skilled – Solid background in an MOT testing role
• DVSA Tester Certification
• Team Player – Able to work efficiently alone or with colleagues
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Detail‑Oriented – Committed to delivering high‑quality work
