Job summary

Arnold Clark Group is seeking an MOT Tester to join our Glasgow branch. You will perform DVSA-aligned MOT tests, identify vehicle defects, and maintain accurate inspection records while delivering outstanding customer service.

You'll work with a skilled team in a fast-paced environment, stay current with MOT guidelines, and have opportunities to advance through training and salary reviews. A valid UK driving licence and relevant certifications are required.

Qualifications

• Qualified Technician with Level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance cert (Level 3 preferred).
• DVSA Tester Certification is required.
• Full UK driving licence is essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform MOT tests in line with DVSA standards.
• Identify vehicle defects and failures and advise customers.
• Keep documentation and records of inspections up to date.
• Provide technical advice and maintain excellent customer service.

About the role

As an MOT Tester, you’ll be a key player in ensuring our customers' vehicles are safe and roadworthy. You’ll work with a skilled, motivated team in a dynamic environment, gaining hands‑on experience with a wide variety of makes and models. Plus, you'll stay ahead of the curve with the latest automotive technology!

Day-to-day duties

• Performing MOT tests in line with DVSA standards
• Identifying vehicle defects and failures
• Keeping up to date with current MOT testing guidelines and best practices
• Maintaining accurate documentation and records of inspections
• Providing exceptional customer service and technical advice

What we’re looking for:

• Qualified Technician – Minimum level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance certification (level 3 preferred)
• Experienced & Skilled – Solid background in an MOT testing role
• DVSA Tester Certification
• Team Player – Able to work efficiently alone or with colleagues
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Detail-Oriented – Committed to delivering high-quality work
