Job summary

Arnold Clark Group in Inverness is seeking an MOT Tester to join our Citroen/Peugeot branch. You’ll be a key player ensuring vehicles are safe and roadworthy, working with a skilled team and gaining hands-on experience across many makes and models.

We offer a competitive salary (£40,000–£50,000 DOE), overtime paid at time and a half, 33 days’ annual leave, and generous benefits including private healthcare, pension options, and employee discounts.

Qualifications

• Qualified Technician – Level 2 LV Maintenance (Level 3 preferred)
• DVSA Tester Certification
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Detail‑Oriented and quality focused
• Team Player capable of working independently or with colleagues

• Perform MOT tests in line with DVSA standards
• Identify vehicle defects and failures
• Keep up to date with MOT testing guidelines and best practices

About the role

As an MOT Tester, you’ll be a key player in ensuring our customers' vehicles are safe and roadworthy. You’ll work with a skilled, motivated team in a dynamic environment, gaining hands‑on experience with a wide variety of makes and models. Plus, you'll stay ahead of the curve with the latest automotive technology!

Day-to-day duties

• Performing MOT tests in line with DVSA standards
• Identifying vehicle defects and failures
• Keeping up to date with current MOT testing guidelines and best practicesWhat we’re looking for:
  • Qualified Technician – Minimum level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance certification (level 3 preferred)
  • Experienced & Skilled – Solid background in an MOT testing role
  • DVSA Tester Certification
  • Team Player – Able to work efficiently alone or with colleagues
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Detail-Oriented – Committed to delivering high-quality work
