Job summary

Vehicle Solutions Cheltenham is seeking an experienced MOT Tester for our Cheltenham workshop. This full-time, on-site role involves conducting MOT inspections according to DVSA rules, recording results, and advising on repairs. You'll work closely with the workshop team and support routine servicing when needed. DVSA approval and NVQ/City & Guilds credentials are highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Valid MOT Tester qualification and DVSA approval to carry out MOT tests.
• Strong technical skills in vehicle inspection, diagnostics and mechanical repair.
• Attention to detail in recording results and documenting procedures.
• Good communication to explain findings to customers and team.
• Ability to manage time and maintain a safe workshop environment.

Role Description The MOT Tester will carry out MOT inspections in line with DVSA regulations, ensuring that vehicles meet the required safety and environmental standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing thorough checks on key vehicle systems, accurately recording test results, advising on necessary repairs, and working closely with the workshop team to schedule and complete follow-up work. The role involves using diagnostic equipment, maintaining test lane equipment, keeping up to date with MOT testing guidelines, and supporting routine servicing and repair tasks when needed. This is a full-time, on-site role based at the Vehicle Solutions workshop in Cheltenham, requiring a consistent presence in the garage environment and direct interaction with colleagues and customers.
