Job summary

Arnold Clark in Carlisle is seeking an experienced MOT Tester to join our Hyundai/Vanstore/Geely branch. You will perform MOT tests, identify defects, and ensure vehicles meet DVSA standards while delivering excellent customer service.

You'll work with a skilled team, gain hands-on experience with a wide range of vehicles, and have the opportunity to progress, including EV accreditation training and salary reviews. A full UK driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• Qualified Technician with Level 2 LV maintenance (Level 3 preferred).
• Solid MOT testing experience and DVSA tester certification.
• Full UK driving licence and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform MOT tests in line with DVSA standards.
• Identify defects and advise customers accordingly.
• Keep accurate inspection records and documentation.
• Provide high-quality technical guidance and service.

About The Role

As an MOT Tester, you’ll be a key player in ensuring our customers' vehicles are safe and roadworthy. You’ll work with a skilled, motivated team in a dynamic environment, gaining hands‑on experience with a wide variety of makes and models. Plus, you'll stay ahead of the curve with the latest automotive technology!

Day-to-day duties

• Performing MOT tests in line with DVSA standards
• Identifying vehicle defects and failuresKeeping up to date with current MOT testing guidelines and best practices
• Maintaining accurate documentation and records of inspections
• Providing exceptional customer service and technical advice

What We’re Looking For

• Qualified Technician – Minimum level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance certification (level 3 preferred)
• Experienced & Skilled – Solid background in an MOT testing role
• DVSA Tester Certification
• Team Player – Able to work efficiently alone or with colleagues
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Detail‑Oriented – Committed to delivering high‑quality work
