Job summary

Arnold Clark is seeking an MOT Tester at our Hamilton Road Volvo branch. You will conduct MOT tests to DVSA standards, identify defects, and maintain thorough inspection records while delivering friendly, expert customer service.

Qualifications

• Qualified Technician with MOT testing background and DVSA certification.
• Level 2 LV Maintenance is required; Level 3 is preferred where possible.
• Full UK Driving Licence is essential for site access and mobility.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out MOT tests in line with DVSA standards.
• Identifying defects and failures and documenting findings clearly.
• Updating knowledge of MOT testing guidelines and best practices.
• Maintaining accurate inspection records and paperwork.
• Providing excellent customer service and technical guidance.

About The Role

As an MOT Tester, you’ll be a key player in ensuring our customers' vehicles are safe and roadworthy. You’ll work with a skilled, motivated team in a dynamic environment, gaining hands-on experience with a wide variety of makes and models. Plus, you'll stay ahead of the curve with the latest automotive technology!

Day-to-day duties

• Performing MOT tests in line with DVSA standards
• Identifying vehicle defects and failures
• Keeping up to date with current MOT testing guidelines and best practices
• Maintaining accurate documentation and records of inspections
• Providing exceptional customer service and technical advice

What We’re Looking For

• Qualified Technician – Minimum level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance certification (level 3 preferred)
• Experienced & Skilled – Solid background in an MOT testing role
• DVSA Tester Certification
• Team Player – Able to work efficiently alone or with colleagues
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Detail-Oriented – Committed to delivering high-quality work
