Job summary

Perfect Placement is seeking an MOT Technician for a well-established, family-run garage in Wigan, performing servicing, repairs and MOT testing to high standards. You should hold MOT Tester certification, be Level 3 qualified in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, have at least four years in a busy workshop, and possess strong diagnostic and teamwork skills.

Monday to Friday, no weekend work, with opportunities for development.

Qualifications

• Qualified to Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent.
• Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician with at least 4 years in a busy workshop environment.
• MOT Tester certification is essential.
• Strong diagnostic skills with the ability to detect faults accurately.
• Excellent team player with effective communication skills.
• Flexible, motivated, and committed to meeting targets and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive vehicle servicing, repairs and diagnostics.
• Perform MOT testing and ensure vehicles comply with safety and emissions standards.
• Carry out routine maintenance including brake work, engine repairs, and component replacements.
• Utilise diagnostic tools and technical manuals to efficiently identify faults.
• Maintain accurate records of work completed and parts used.
• Work collaboratively with team members to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations within the workshop environment.
