Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) is recruiting a Mortuary Support Worker (Band 3) in Manchester. The role involves liaising sensitively with relatives of the deceased, handling receipt and release of deceased, and carrying out related cleaning duties and on-call shifts.

Qualifications

• GCSEs and CPD as described in candidate information.
• Knowledge of maintaining patient records.
• Communication with bereaved relatives in a sensitive manner.
• Mortuary / funeral experience or willingness to train in it.
• Driving licence may be advantageous.

Responsabilités

• Release deceased persons to funeral directors or other authorised persons.
• Receive deceased persons from hospital and community.
• Book in and release deceased patients on the laboratory information system.
• Facilitate family visits in accordance with SOPs.
• Process products of conception and prepare for end of month cremation.
• Accompany bereaved relatives during visits and provide support.
• Participate in audit processes and report incidents.
• Communicate with a wide range of staff and external organisations.
