Job summary

The Co-operative Bank is seeking a Mortgage Underwriter in Coventry to accurately process mortgage applications, verify documents, and ensure policy adherence. You will liaise with brokers, solicitors and customers by phone, providing timely updates and gathering information to progress cases.

After training, the role shifts to a hybrid pattern with at least two days in the Coventry office. You will contribute to maintaining quality standards while expanding mortgage knowledge in a supportive,

Job description

Our New Lending area has the opportunity to join them as a Mortgage Underwriter.

This role is responsible for accurately processing our customer mortgage applications through our systems, ensuring they meet the appropriate policies and criteria. The role holder underwrites cases by checking mortgage calculations, various customer’sdocuments such as payslips and proof of I.D, ensuring high levels of accuracy and attention to detail within this fast paced, customer focused environment. It requires strong attention to detail to be able to highlight anydiscrepanciesor concerns.

The role also involves working closely with mortgage brokers, solicitors and customers by making call to them on a daily basis, keeping them up to date on the mortgage process and gain any extra information needed will be an important part of this opportunity . Continuous learning and keeping up to date with product and policy changes will be key as well as and achieving quality standards.

Start date will be the 30th November and once you're trained and comfortable in role (up to 6 months) you'll revert to a hybrid working pattern. We’ll then ask you to work at least two days (more if you prefer) from our Coventry office. The role operates Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm.
