Hybrid working: 3 days in the office and 2 at home after successful completion of probation.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Mortgage Underwriter to join our Underwriting Team in Manchester. The role involves liaising with brokers to progress mortgage applications from receipt to offer, ensuring all information complies with Fleet’s criteria and is suitable for lending. The role requires good decision-making, communication skills, and an excellent eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities

1. Working with objectives, service standards, and deliverables.
2. Checking documentation and information for policy adherence.
3. Handling queries professionally and delivering excellent customer service.
4. Responding promptly to written correspondence.

Candidate Requirements

1. Previous experience as a manual mortgage underwriter (essential).
2. Current mortgage lending mandate (essential).
3. Ability to exercise good judgment.
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
5. CeMAP qualification preferred or willingness to study.
